I’ve been thinking a lot about houses (duh – it’s what I blog about) and have been wondering what I’ll do when I buy my first house. Because most of my stuff will be accessories and worn out kitchen items, I will need to buy a lot. My question for this week is: If you moved in to a completely empty house with basically nothing in it, what would you buy first? In other words, what is the most essential object that you would buy and how would you decorate around it once you bought it?
Swamplot
I imagine even the most beautiful house would be intimidating if bought with nothing to put in it. It would be fun, but quite a daunting task to plan and decorate it all within a budget.
What room would you start with and which would you push aside?
This is a hard question – I’d say I’d start with probably a refrigerator, but if the house came with one, I would start with the bed. Then I’d probably move to a table and chairs, then a couch in the living

…but if you try sometimes you might find something really similar in your price range!
I have been drooling over this this Naudia chair ever since I spotted it and used it in a purple and gold Christmas inspiration board a few months ago. This weekend I saw the chair in person and fell even more in love with it.
It’s actually not a bad price at just $119.88, but I don’t have a practical use for it and there’s no way I will dish out a hundred smackaroos on a decorative chair right now. I decided to reevaluate what I really like about the chair. I found the main things that attracted me to it are its purple color, floral pattern, and feminine aesthetic. I began to wonder if I could find these qualities in something else that might be more useful to me and in my price range.
A little rummaging through TJ Maxx and I found just the thing. Continue reading You Can’t Always Get What You Want

Now that I am an avid user of a Digital SLR camera (a Nikon D5000 to be exact), I have been hankering for not only new lenses (or just one new one for now), but also for a more roomy and cute camera bag.
When I bought my camera, I added on an inexpensive kit that included this camera bag:
Rokinon Leather-Style Holster SLR Carrying Case
It does pretty much all I need it to do right now, seeing as I usually don’t go anywhere, so I don’t need to take my camera with me, and I only have the kit lens that came with the camera, so I don’t need any extra storage. This little carrying case will always be useful when I am on the go and only need one lens, but I plan on purchasing a new lens in the near future and will want more storage, as well as for papers, filters, my point and shoot camera, as well as room to grow.
Here are some options that meet my camera bag requirements that it must be cute and have organized space

This weekend I was feeling very crafty, which called for some shopping that led to some incredible finds! I have a lot of crafts to share in the next couple of weeks, so I’m very excited! In the meantime, here are some of the cool things I found this weekend.
Last week, two of my favorite bloggers (Bryn and Jenny) blogged about Daily Drop Cap, a website with amazing decorative initial caps posted once every day. That compelled me to buy this when I first saw it at Marshalls for $7.99. Maybe it was a little more expensive than what I would normally spend, but considering it was pay day and it was totally awesome, I gave in and bought it. It now sits on my desk but also can be
